Our story
Lake Murray Construction was founded by roofers with more than 20 years in the industry, and it is run the way we would want our own roof handled: look at it properly first, tell the homeowner the truth about what it needs, and do the work right the first time. The company is family owned and operated, based in Chapin at 230 Joe Free Road, and works on homes and businesses across Columbia, Lexington, Irmo, Lake Murray and the surrounding Midlands.
We repair, replace and inspect roofs, handle storm damage from the first tarp to the finished repair, and install new shingle roofs. Every job starts with a complimentary inspection and a written report, and every estimate is in writing before any work begins.

How we work
An inspection comes first, and it is complimentary. We walk the roof, check the attic and the ceilings under it, and photograph anything that needs attention. You get a written report with the condition of the roof and a clear recommendation, whether that is nothing at all, a small repair, or a conversation about replacement. If it is a repair, you get the estimate in writing. If it is a replacement, you get the reasons and the photos behind them, and you decide on your own schedule.
Columbia roofs live with 90 degree summers, about 45 inches of rain a year and the wind that comes with summer thunderstorms and the remains of tropical systems. We keep up with current materials and installation methods so the roof we put on handles all of that for years, and when the job is done the crew cleans the yard and runs a magnet for nails before we leave.
